There are three categories of water damage and in the unfortunate event that your home or business suffers from water damage it is best to identify the type of water you are dealing with.
CATEGORY 1: CLEAN WATER DAMAGE
Category 1 is the least severe and includes water damage such as broken pipes, broken water supply lines, or broken appliances such as a dishwasher overflowing. Typically, these situations can be remedied easily, and the water involved in this is sewage and toxin-free.
CATEGORY 2: GREY WATER DAMAGE
This type of water damage involves water from appliances such as toilets or washing machines. It is best to avoid coming in contact with this water; but it may or may not be harmful to humans. It is important to disinfect your home or business completely if you encounter this type of water damage.
CATEGORY 3: BLACK WATER DAMAGE
Black water is the most extreme type of damage as it includes sewage and flood water. This is a serious matter and needs to be addressed quickly and efficiently to minimize secondary damage.
