Frozen Pipes in Chagrin Falls?
1/13/2021 (Permalink)
Some would agree, winter here in Geauga County has been pretty, mild. However, forecasters are expecting a drop in temperature next week. They say we will be going from mid-30’s and even 40’s, to temperatures below average. Such fluctuation in temperature, can cause pipes to freeze and break. The frozen pipe expands and splits which then allows the water to escape under pressure. If not found right away the water can create significant damage to your property. After discovery, turn off the water, contact a plumber, and call SERVPRO of Geauga County. As a note, make sure to keep the busted water / pipeline (most insurance companies need to see the source of loss) This also helps the insurance company determine that this was caused by frozen pipelines verse age rot, damage etc. Most insurance companies will cover damage from a frozen pipe, provided the home or business was occupied and the heat was on.
SERVPRO of Geauga County provides emergency cleaning and restoration services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week—including all holidays.
